At the University of Sydney, there are two collaborative groups that form part of the GenoMEL Consortium. One is the Melanoma Research Group based at the Westmead institute for Medical Research and the other is the Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research Group based in the School of Public Health. Both groups are affiliated with the Melanoma Institute Australia.

Research

Our groups’ research focuses on the genetic and environmental epidemiology of melanoma, new markers of melanoma outcome and targets for melanoma treatment, and on various translational research projects to improve the prevention, early detection, clinical management and psycho-social outcomes for people with melanoma.
